Performance art

Using intimacy as a method, this performance seeks to redefine sensibility towards ink as a material imbued with cultural narratives and rhetoric. Deeply embedded in the human consciousness through its use, history, and place, it cuts through the toughest layers while receding like a puzzle of a shadow that had long resided.

This performance details an intimate bodily encounter with ink. The carbon-based ancient material is conceptualised here as a cultural conduit. This elemental entity is like a ghost; formless, indeterminate. It is sharp, and jolting, like a blade that cuts through the toughest layer of cultural skin. It sits quietly on the shelf, waiting to be stirred. It is accommodating, receding into the background like a puzzle of a shadow that had long lived there.
